Can I tell what type of punch authentication method my employee used on the timeclock? Follow
Question: Can I tell what type of punch authentication method my employee used on the timeclock?
Answer: No. An important aspect of biometric security is that we do not send actual biometric data between the clocks and the cloud.
All biometric scans at the clock are converted into a numeric data type that does not contain actual remnants of the biometric data. Once the scan is matched to the user at the clock, the numerical reference number is sent to the cloud for the punch. Since this number is purposely indistinguishable from a PIN or RFID card number, we cannot track which type of punch it is. The onus of employee punch behavior is, therefore, on the administrator of the account.
