Start and End Zones (Grace Periods) Follow
uAttend's department-level schedule feature gives you several useful tools to maintain efficient operations across the board. The primary focus of this productivity feature is to set up start and end zones, like a grace period before starting or after ending productive work, that will allow employees to clock in (or out) within a given window of their scheduled start and end times, but only accrue paid time once the assigned start time has passed.
Notes:
- Supervisors can be configured with permissions to view and/or edit departments. Their responsibility can also be limited to certain departments.
- Department-level settings and rules are inherited from the employee's home department.
- These rules will not be applied to punches occurring before or after the start/end zones.
- Start and end zones can be configured in coordination with lockouts to prevent early in and/or late out punches.
- Start and end zone settings will not be applied to punches that were manually added to the timecard.
- If the start zone or end zone is set to OFF the respective zone will not be enabled.
To configure start and end zones for a department:
- Log in to the uAttend cloud portal with an administrator or supervisor (with permissions) profile.
- Click on the Departments tab.
- Click on the name of the intended department or click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the window to search for a department.
- Click the Schedule tab.
- Click the drop-down menu and select the YES option for each day you intend to configure start and/or end zones for.
- Enter the Start Time and End Time for each day of the schedule for this department.
- Click the drop-down menu and select a Start Zone and End Zone option (listed below) from the list.
- 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes
- Click the SAVE button.
