Add a Fingerprint Template to a BN Timeclock Follow
For those using a BN series timeclock (BN5000, BN5500, BN6000, BN6400, BN6500), you will use fingerprint ID’s to add employee fingerprints to the BN timeclock. Adding employee fingerprint's to a BN model timeclock is a two-step process: adding the fingerprint on the device and adding the fingerprint ID to the employee's profile. This article will cover how to scan the employee's fingerprint on the timeclock and assign it an ID.
Notes:
- Fingerprint templates for JR series timeclocks are not transferrable with templates for a BN series timeclock.
- There are also settings and features to configure in the cloud portal that relate to your (BN5000, BN5500, BN6000, BN6400/BN6500) timeclock(s).
- You will need your company ID (to find your account) and have access to the administrator email address (to receive an activation code) when adding a new timeclock to your account.
- Verify with your IT department that the timeclock has been allowed free communication (to and from our servers) on all ports and to/from all addresses on the lists in this article.
To create a new fingerprint template on a BN timeclock:
- Press the MENU key.
- Enter the five-digit administrator passcode.
- Press OK.
- Select USER MANAGEMENT.
- Press OK.
- Select ADD USER.
- Press OK.
- Enter the employee's unique six-digit fingerprint ID.
- Press OK.
- Press OK again to verify the number is correct.
- Scan the employee’s fingerprint by placing a thumb or finger on the scanner, pausing momentarily, and then releasing it.
- You want to get the best possible image of the fingerprint to achieve an accuracy of 80% or higher (accuracy meter on screen).
- Repeat this until the registration succeeds (usually 3 times).
- If successful, you will receive the message "enrolled successfully, Press OK to Upload", press OK.
- The device will display "Fingerprint Template Saved".
- Press OK.
