Enter Your WIFI Password on your BN Timeclock Follow
To enter letters and symbols using the keypad on WIFI-compatible BN timeclocks (BN5500, BN6400, BN6500), you will need to use the Checkmark ✔ key to switch between letters, numbers, and symbols and the keypad to enter the desired character. See the tables below for assistance.
Notes:
- There are also settings and features to configure in the cloud portal that relate to your (BN5000, BN5500, BN6000, BN6400/BN6500) timeclock(s).
- You will need your company ID (to find your account) and have access to the administrator email address (to receive an activation code) when adding a new timeclock to your account.
- Verify with your IT department that the timeclock has been allowed free communication (to and from our servers) on all ports and to/from all addresses on the lists in this article.
- Use the Checkmark button to switch between letters, numbers, and symbols. Use the Menu button to delete.
To enter a WIFI password on a BN series timeclock:
You will need to use the Checkmark ✔ key to cycle through the character type options (letters, numbers, symbols). Use the charts below to select the character to be entered. We recommend prepping the choices beforehand as a lengthy pause will cause the password to need to be re-entered.
Entering Letters
To enter a password to join a WIFI network, you will use the numeric keypad to enter numbers, letters, and symbols. The following tables display the keys you will use to enter each letter. To enter letters, press the corresponding number when the bottom bar reads [English].
If for any reason a letter is entered incorrectly press the MENU key to delete that letter.

Switching To Numbers
To enter numbers press the ESC key once. To return to letters press the Checkmark ✔ key until the bar at the bottom of the screen says [English].
Entering Symbols
To enter symbols press the Checkmark ✔ key until it says SYMBOL and enter the appropriate numerical and key patterns for the symbol desired.

Saving the Password
Once the password is entered and you confirm that it is the correct password for your WIFI network. It is required to be in the Number entry mode to finalize the entry.
- If you are in letter-entry mode press the ESC key once and press the OK key two times.
- If you are in number-entry mode press the OK key two times.
- If you are in symbol-entry mode press the Checkmark ✔ key once then press ESC once, then the OK key two times.
Press the ESC key until you are back to the main screen. Wait for the password to authenticate and you should get SYSTEM READY in green.
