How do I transfer archived RFID badges/key fobs to new employees? Follow
If you need to re-use or re-assign an RFID card or key fob to a new employee, you will first need to remove the badge from the original employee's profile, then add the badge number to the new employee's profile. See the steps below for a complete walkthrough.
Notes:
- uAttend does not support ANY 3rd party accessories (RFID badges, key fobs, badge printers, PoE adapters, etc.).
- To transfer an RFID badge/key fob, you will need to remove the RFID from an assigned archived employee.
- If you don't know which archived employee is already assigned the RFID badge/key fob, you can run an Employee report (filtered to view archived users) and select Badge ID from the available attributes to determine which archived employee is currently assigned the intended badge ID.
To remove the RFID from the archived employee:
- Log in to the uAttend cloud portal as an administrator or supervisor (with permissions).
- Click on the People tab.
- Click the filter icon in the upper right corner.
- Select the Archived option from the list.
- Click the Unarchive button on the intended employee.
- After you've Unarchived the employee, click on their name.
- Click on the Punch Management tab.
- On the Badge Number line, click the Edit button, copy the badge number, delete the badge number and click the SAVE button.
- To archive, the employee again, click the General tab.
- Click the EDIT button on the line for the Status option.
- Click the drop-down menu and select the intended Status option (listed below) for this employee.
- Archived - Biometric data is purged (if applicable)
- Temporarily Inactive - Biometric data is preserved (if applicable)
- Add the badge to the new employee's profile.
