Enable Web Punching with IP Restrictions for an Employee Follow
For an additional layer of security, your uAttend account gives you the option to assign IP address security to an employee’s profile, with this option enabled, web punches performed by the employee can only be performed from within a network you’ve added, such as your office network, details below.
Notes:
- Supervisors can be configured with permissions to view and/or edit employees. Their responsibility can also be limited to certain departments, thereby limiting which employee profiles they can access.
- Provide employees with your company's login URL and invite them to create their username and password.
To manage web punching authentication and configure IP login security on an employee profile:
- Log in to the uAttend cloud portal with an administrator or supervisor (with permissions) profile.
- Click on the People tab.
- Click on the name of the intended employee or click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the window to search for an employee.
- Enter the employee's email address in the Contact Information section. If they already have an email address entered, skip to step 6.
- Click the Invite User hyperlink.
- Click the Punch Management tab.
- Click the slider for the Allow Website Punch setting to enable/disable web punching for the selected employee.
- Click the slider for the IP Login Security setting to enable/disable web punching restrictions for the selected employee.
- Click the hyperlink for the List of IP Addresses option to configure IP-based restrictions for the selected employee.
- Click the Add IP Address button to add an allowed IP address to the list of IP addresses.
- Enter the first sections of the public IP Address for the allowed IP address.
- Enter a Name for the allowed IP address.
- Click SAVE for the IP address settings.
- Click SAVE.
