Update the Device ID on a CB Timeclock

As the account admin, you will want to be able to effectively manage the timeclocks on your account. The articles here are meant to give you an understanding of the features and functions of your CB series (CB5000, CB5500, CB6000, CB6400, CB6500) device(s).

Notes:

• There are also settings and features to configure in the cloud portal that relate to your (CB5000, CB5500, CB6000, CB6400/CB6500) timeclock(s).
• You will need your company ID (to find your account) and have access to the administrator email address (to receive an activation code) when adding a new timeclock to your account.
• Verify with your IT department that the timeclock has been allowed free communication (to and from our servers) on all ports and to/from all addresses on the lists in this article.

To update the device ID on the CB timeclock:

1. Press MENU. 
2. Enter your eight-digit super administrator password. 
   • If this is your first time accessing this menu, enter the default password 31468912 and press OK. You will be prompted to create a new super administrator password. 
3. Use the down arrow to select DEVICE MANAGEMENT.
4. Press OK. 
5. Use the down arrow to select UPDATE DEVICE ID.
6. Press OK.
7. You will be prompted with the message "Do you want to generate new Device ID?"
8. Press OK. 
9. Enter your company ID and press OK. 
10. An Authentication Code will be emailed to the account administrator. 
11. Press OK when you are ready to enter the code. 
12. Enter the authentication code and press OK. 
13. Once complete, you will need to onboard the timeclock.
