Getting Started with uAttend Payroll Follow
Ready to start using uAttend Payroll or want to know what the setup process looks like? This guide will walk you through the process, from clicking "Getting Started" to running your first payroll with uAttend.
The onboarding process is broken down into three phases:

Phase 1: Provide Your Company Details
You'll begin the process in the uAttend web portal.
To get started:
- Log in under the administrator profile of the person who will be handling payroll.
- Navigate to the Payroll tab in the web portal and click the Getting Started button.
- Enter your basic legal company details and complete the initial signup process.
- Schedule an appointment with our payroll onboarding team. During this meeting, they'll gather additional details, such as:
- State tax ID information
- Deduction and benefit details
- PTO policies
- Non-standard pay details
This initial phase typically takes 5-10 business days. Once this phase is complete, you'll be ready to move on to onboarding your employees.
Phase 2: Onboard Your Employees
Employee onboarding is available after completing the company onboarding process.
Self-Onboarding via Email:
Employees can complete the self-onboarding process via email with minimal input from you.
- Make sure your employees have a username and password set up. Follow the steps in our Invite a User article create their username and password if they do not have one currently.
- Navigate to the Payroll tab and click Begin Employee Onboarding.
- Enter the employee details and send the self-onboarding email.
- Employees will receive an email with a link to securely submit their payroll information. Share our uAttend Payroll Employee Self-Onboarding guide with your employees to help them with the process.
Manual Employee Onboarding:
If you do not want your employees to complete the self-onboarding process and would prefer to manually enter your employee payroll information, contact our payroll support team for assistance. We'll send you a form to fill out for each employee. You will need to provide each employee's information manually in the form.
Phase 3: Submit Your Year-to-Date Payroll Information
Many customers switch to uAttend Payroll partway through the year. To ensure accurate payroll records, our payroll support team will work with you to gather your year-to-date payroll information. Keep an eye out on your inbox for email communications from our team.
Once this phase is complete, you will be fully set up and ready to process your first pay run!
