Assign a Payroll Deduction to a Person Follow
As the Payroll Administrator, you can assign deductions to active people directly in uAttend. The deduction section is only available for accounts using uAttend payroll and will only show on profiles of people that are active and pending or onboarding for payroll. If there are available deductions to be assigned, you will see the Assign Deduction option in the Deductions section of a person's profile. Only the payroll administrator can update deductions. If you are not the payroll administrator, reach out to your admin for assistance.
To assign a payroll deduction to a person:
- Log in to the web portal as the payroll administrator.
- Navigate to the People tab.
- Click the person's name.
- Select Job and Pay from the left-side menu.
- Click the Deductions tab.
- Click Assign Deduction.
- Select the deduction you want to assign from the available deduction codes.
- Click Save to apply the deduction.
When will changes be applied?
Updates to deductions apply to payroll based on when the change is made:
- Before running payroll: Changes made before a pay run is started will be included in the next pay run.
- During a pay run: If payroll is already in progress, deduction changes will apply to the next pay run. To apply changes to the current pay run, delete the pay run, make the updates, and restart it.
- After submitting payroll: If the pay run has already been submitted, contact us to request changes.
Why can't I add a deduction?
If the Assign Deduction option isn’t available, it may be because all available deductions have already been assigned, or the person isn’t onboarding for payroll. If you believe a deduction is missing or need a new code added, use the Contact Us link in the Deductions section to reach our payroll specialist team.
