Enter the WIFI Password on an RE2000 Time Clock Follow
When connecting an RE2000 time clock to Wi‑Fi, you will need to enter the network password using the device’s keypad. RE2000 time clocks use a layered, multi‑tap keypad to enter Wi‑Fi passwords. This article explains how to switch between character layers and use multi‑tap input to enter letters, numbers, and symbols when connecting the device to a wireless network.
Keypad Layers
The RE2000 keypad has four character layers:
- Capital Letters (A-Z): ABC
- Lowercase letters (a-z): abc
- Numbers (0-9): 123
- Symbols: ? !#$
Press the Checkmark button to cycle through the available layers. The active layer appears on-screen to show what number button on the keypad to press.
Entering Letters
Letters are entered using multi-tap input.
To enter a letter:
- Ensure the correct keypad layer is selected.
- Press the appropriate number key repeatedly to cycle through the characters assigned to that key.
- Stop pressing the key and wait 1 second for the character to be recorded.
- After the character is recorded, begin entering the next character.
Examples
- To enter a capital H: On the capital letters layer (ABC), press the 4 key two times to enter H.
- To enter lowercase hd: On the lowercase letters layer (abc), press the 4 key two times to enter h, wait 1 second, then press the 3 key once to enter d.
Entering Numbers
- Press the Checkmark button until the Numbers layer (123) appears.
- Press the number key to enter the number.
Entering Symbols
- Press the Checkmark button until the Symbols layer (? !#$) appears.
- Press the corresponding number key to enter the symbol shown on the screen.
Deleting Characters
Press the MENU button to delete the last character entered.
