Verify the Network Connection on an RE2000 Time Clock Follow
If the RE2000 time clock is experiencing connectivity issues or you want to confirm that it is properly connected to your network, you can run a built‑in network diagnostic directly from the device. This connection test verifies communication with the network to help identify potential configuration or connectivity problems. Follow the steps below to verify the network connection on the RE2000 time clock.
You will need the time clock admin and super admin passcodes to access the time clock menus. Reach out to the Administrator for your account regarding this information.
Note: If your device is running an earlier software version, it may not detect or connect to Wi‑Fi networks with an SSID (network name) of 16 characters or fewer.
This behavior applies during initial setup and is resolved in version 1.00.03.
If your network does not appear or you’re unable to connect:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network name is 16 characters or fewer, or
- Use a temporary network with a shorter name to complete setup
After connecting, perform an /link to enable support for longer network names.
To run a network connection diagnostic on the RE2000 time clock:
- Press the MENU key.
- Enter the five-digit administrator passcode.
- Press OK.
- Scroll down to WIFI.
- Press OK.
- Scroll down once to Check Connection.
- Press OK.
- The device will perform a connection test and display the results on the screen.
From this screen, you can open the Contact Us screen, view your network settings, or retry the connection.
