Automatic Lunch Break Options Follow
Set up automatic lunch break deductions to simplify time tracking for your team. This feature ensures lunch breaks are deducted after a set number of hours worked even when employees don't punch for lunch. Department-level settings and rules are inherited from the employee's home department. Even if the employee is working in a separate department for the day, the lunch settings of their home department will be applied to their time worked. While Administrators are able to set lunch settings for all departments, supervisors must be configured with permissions to view and/or edit departments. Their responsibility can also be limited to certain departments.

To configure automatic unpaid meal break deductions:
- Log in to the uAttend cloud portal as an administrator or supervisor (with permissions).
- Click on the Departments tab.
- Click on the name of the intended department using the search function as needed.
- Click EDIT on the line for the Lunch Deduction/Duration option.
- Click the first drop-down menu to select when the deduction will be applied.
- Click the second drop-down menu to select the duration of the the lunch deduction to be applied.
- Check the Recurring box if this rule should be repeated in a shift.
- Click the SAVE button.
