Onboarding Your New Time Clock
Setting up your uAttend Time Clock requires an interaction between your time clock and your account. Once you’ve completed the following 5 easy steps, your employees will be ready to use the clock.
1. Gather Your Account Details
Before you begin onboarding your new time clock, make sure you have the following information ready:
-
Company ID: Your company name and ID are always displayed in the upper-right corner of every page in the uAttend cloud portal (as pictured below).
- Administrator Email Access: During setup, a verification code is sent to the email address of the administrator on the account. Make sure you have access to this email before continuing. This helps keep your account secure by ensuring no one can adda clock to your account without your permission.
No account yet? No worries!
Create one at TrackMyTime.com/signup and follow the Setup Wizard to add your departments, employees, and rules.
See our Getting Started series for more information on the initial account setup and core features!
2. Power on Your Clock
Plug your time clock into a power outlet using the included power adapter. Before powering on the device, review the Features and Specifications article for important safety information and power requirements.
Note: uAttend time clocks do not support Power over Ethernet (PoE). The device must be powered using the supplied adapter.
3. Connect and Set Up Your Clock
- Follow the onscreen prompts to select your Wi-Fi Network.
- Enter your password onscreen. See Using the Keypad above for additional guidance if needed.
- The clock will check for any needed updates once the connection is established to be sure you have the most up-to-date version of the clock firmware possible.
- Enter your uAttend Company ID.
- Enter the 2-step verification code, emailed to your uAttend account administrator's email address.
- Select a time zone based on the location of the clock.
- Set your 5-digit administrator passcode. This code will be used to access administrator-only functions. If you ever lose it, it can be recovered in your uAttend account.
Note: If your device is running an earlier software version, it may not detect or connect to Wi‑Fi networks with an SSID (network name) of 16 characters or fewer.
This behavior applies during initial setup and is resolved in version 1.00.03.
If your network does not appear or you’re unable to connect:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network name is 16 characters or fewer, or
- Use a temporary network with a shorter name to complete setup
After connecting, perform an /link to enable support for longer network names.
4. Mount Your Clock
Included with your time clock, you will find:
- A metal back plate
- Four drywall anchors
- Four screws
- Two small bracket screws.
You will need your own Phillips-head screwdriver.

- Place the provided template against the wall.
- Drill holes through the targets using a 1/4 inch (6.35mm) drill bit.

- Secure the back plate to the wall with the included screws.
