2-Step Verification and Shared Logins Follow
2-Step Verification (2FA) is designed to keep your account secure. If multiple people use the same login credentials, you may run into issues with authentication codes being sent to an email or phone number you don't recognize.
How 2-Step Verification Works
- On your first login from a new device, you'll be prompted to enter an email or phone number to receive a verification code.
- All future logins will continue to use the chosen method.
- Changing your profile's email address or phone number does not change the 2FA method.
If you share login credentials and the verification code goes to the wrong contact, this indicates someone else has already logged in with the same credentials and entered a different email address or phone number. To fix this, reset your password from the login page. This will also reset your 2FA settings.
Best Practice: Avoid Shared Login Credentials
Sharing a single login creates security risks and can cause complications when verifying a new device. Instead, we recommend creating Supervisor profiles for additional users at no extra cost. You can manage permissions as needed.
If you must share credentials, use a shared email address or phone number that all users of that login can access for 2-Step verification.
