Connect a RE2000 Time Clock to a WIFI Network Follow
You will need the time clock admin and super admin passcodes to access the time clock menus. Reach out to the Administrator for your account regarding this information.
Note: If your device is running an earlier software version, it may not detect or connect to Wi‑Fi networks with an SSID (network name) of 16 characters or fewer.
This behavior applies during initial setup and is resolved in version 1.00.03.
If your network does not appear or you’re unable to connect:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network name is 16 characters or fewer, or
- Use a temporary network with a shorter name to complete setup
After connecting, perform an /link to enable support for longer network names.

If the connection is unsuccessful
If the device cannot connect, you may see an error message such as “CANNOT CONNECT TO INTERNAL NETWORK.”
Double‑check the network password and try again, ensuring you enter it exactly as provided - passwords are case‑sensitive.
If the issue continues, the cause is likely related to the network itself. You can:
- Review our Connection Errors article for additional troubleshooting steps, or
- Test the device on an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot, to determine whether the issue is specific to your primary network.
