Onboarding an RE2000 Time Clock Follow
As the account administrator, you will want to be able to effectively manage the time clocks on your account. This article will walk you through how to onboard an RE2000 time clock to your uAttend account. If this is your first time using an RE2000, see: Getting Started with Your RE2000.
Notes:
- The use of two time clocks on your account is included in your base monthly subscription. There is an additional monthly fee for each additional time clock added to your account.
Before You Begin
Before you begin onboarding your new time clock, make sure you have the following information ready:
-
Company ID: Your company name and ID are always displayed in the upper-right corner of every page in the uAttend cloud portal (as pictured below).
- Administrator Email Access: During setup, a verification code is sent to the email address of the administrator on the account. Make sure you have access to this email before continuing. This helps keep your account secure by ensuring no one can adda clock to your account without your permission.
- Network Access: Verify with your IT department that the time clock has been allowed free communication (to and from our servers) on all ports and to/from all addresses on the lists in this article.
To onboard a RE series (RE2000) time clock:
- Plug your clock into a power outlet using the included power adapter.
- Use the down arrow to select WIFI.
- Select your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password.
- Tap a key the necessary number of times to enter the appropriate character.
- Press the ✓ Checkmark button to move between character types.
- Use the up and down arrows to move the cursor.
- Press the MENU button to delete the character before the cursor.
- Click this link to view more information on entering the password.
- Enter your uAttend company ID.
- Enter the 2-step verification code, emailed to your uAttend account administrator's email address and press OK.
- Select the Time Zone for the location this device will be installed.
- Set your 5-digit administrator passcode. This code will be used to access administrator-only functions on this time clock. If you ever lose it, it can be recovered in your uAttend account.
Note: If your device is running an earlier software version, it may not detect or connect to Wi‑Fi networks with an SSID (network name) of 16 characters or fewer.
This behavior applies during initial setup and is resolved in version 1.00.03.
If your network does not appear or you’re unable to connect:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network name is 16 characters or fewer, or
- Use a temporary network with a shorter name to complete setup
After connecting, perform an /link to enable support for longer network names.
After Onboarding
After onboarding your time clock:
- Set the name or location for the time clock in your uAttend cloud portal.
- Add Fingerprints for your employees. Employee fingerprint templates automatically sync across all RE series time clocks on your account.
- Review additional RE Series (RE2000) articles for additional features and settings.
